Vocational Spotlight - George Jackson

George is the owner of three Ace Hardware stores in Macon. He began his Ace career in December of 1984 with his brother William in Perry, Ga. In 1989 they opened a second store, Wesleyan Ace Hardware, on Forsyth Road in Macon. They operated the two stores as partners until December of 1994 at which time George became sole owner of Wesleyan Ace Hardware and William became sole owner of Ace Hardware & Garden Center in Perry. Perry Ace Hardware & Garden Center is still owned and operated by George’s older brother William.

In 2004 George opened Rutland Ace Hardware on the corner of Houston and Jones Road in south Bibb County and a few years later in 2006 he opened Riverside Ace Hardware on Riverside Drive. His Ace Hardware business has always been a family business and over the last several years his son George Jackson Jr. has become a significant part of managing the company.

Over the years George has enjoyed being part of the Ace Corporation that is owned entirely by the store owners that it serves. Ace currently has over 4800 stores in the United States and operates in over 60 other countries.
